Granada
After departure and a beautiful drive through a mountainous area we
arrive in the former Arab capital, Granada. Here we start our visit
in the historical center of the city. We visit the Isabel Católica
Square, The Alcaiceira (Old Arab Silkmarket), walking and during your
free time in the center you can visit the Royal Chapel and the Cathedral,
or do some shopping. After lunch we will visit the most famous monument
of Arabian culture, the Alhambra. Of course we will also take a stroll
through the famous gardens of Generalife.
Almeria Shopping
After a short drive up to the motorway to Almería,
we will have the opportunity to visit an open-air market and the
Commercial Center Carrefour, where you will be able to wander around
its numerous shops, pubs and leisure areas to shop comfortably.
Sevilla-Cordoba (2 days)
We drive along the coastal road of Granada
towards Málaga and continuing through Antequera towards Seville.
After arrival we organize a general panoramic visit, followed by
the official visit, in the company of a local guide, to the park
María Luisa, the Plaza España, the romantic quarter
of Santa Cruz and the famous Cathedral and Giralda Tower. Rest of
the afternoon free. Supper and accommodation in a 3* hotel. After
breakfast we continue our trip towards Cordoba, city of the Caliphs
and great philosophers. Visit to the Roman Bridge, the Arab Mosque
and the former Jewish quarter Juderia, accompanied by a local guide.
Time off for lunch and journey back to the hotels via Granada. The
order of excursions may be altered.
Gibraltar (2 days)
We follow the Granada coast road up to Nerja
where we visit the prehistoric cave. There is an opportunity to
have lunch (lunch not included). We continue our journey to Mijas,
a picturesque white village, typical of the Costa del Sol. Here
we stop to have a look around. Through Fuengirola we go on to Marbella,
the most luxurious seaside resort on the Costa del Sol, and we visit
the renowned Puerto Banús. Dinner and overnight stay in 3*
hotels in the Costa del Sol. On the second day we continue our journey,
after breakfast, to Gibraltar (the gate to Africa). Where we visit
the Rock of Gibraltar and its famous monkeys, accompanied by a local
guide. Free time to do some shopping. Lunch and return to the hotel
following the same route as on day one.
Mercado de las Aguilas
We take the coast road to Aguilas where the
largest open-air market in the area is held. Lots to look at or
buy before returning by the same route before lunch.
